The Ten-cent Prexie

Airmail to and from Puerto Rico

The airmail rate to and from the U.S. and Puerto Rico was ten cents per half ounce from March 22, 1929 to January 15, 1945.

This cover was mailed from Puerto Rico in 1942.

A cover mailed to Puerto Rico in 1943.

The penalty imprint on official envelopes did not cover airmail service, so a ten-cent stamp was added to this cover to provide expedited service from San Juan to Washington, D.C.
