The airmail rate to the Bahamas, Barbados, Curacao, Dominica, the Dominican Republic and the British Virgin Islands was ten cents per half ounce for various periods before 1945. The Leeward Islands, Martinique, Trinadad and Tobago, and Grenada and the other Windward Islands was ten cents per half ounce from April 1, 1945 to November 1, 1946, when that amount became the uniform rate for most of North and Central America and the Caribbean, lasting through June 30, 1961.
