The Twenty-five-cent Prexie
Airmail to the Netherlands West Indies
The airmail rate to the Netherlands West Indies was twenty-five cents from December 1, 1937 until April 1, 1945.
This cover was sent airmail to Saba in the N.W. I. in October of 1941, and was censored in Curacao.
Airmail to Aruba in 1943, censored both in the United States and Curacao.
Airmail to Surinam sent in 1943. Surinam is not part of the Netherlands West Indies, and the proper airmail rate at the time was thirty cents. The address mentioned the West Indies, so the post office apparently used that designation to determine the rate.
