The Twenty-five-cent Prexie

Airmail to the Netherlands West Indies

The airmail rate to the Netherlands West Indies was twenty-five cents from December 1, 1937 until April 1, 1945.

This cover was sent airmail to Saba in the N.W. I. in October of 1941, and was censored in Curacao.

Airmail to Aruba in 1943, censored both in the United States and Curacao.

A cover sent to Curacao in 1942. It was apparently routed via the KLM West Indes Division or Panam, probably no need for both.

Airmail to Surinam sent in 1943. Surinam was not part of the Netherlands West Indies, and the proper airmail rate at the time was thirty cents. The address mentioned the West Indies, so the post office apparently used that designation to determine the rate.
