The Twenty-five-cent Prexie
Registered airmail use
Airmail letters cost five cents per ounce from October 1, 1946 to January 1, 1949, and the minimum registry fee was twenty cents during that period, making a registered airmail letter twenty-five cents.
This cover was sent registered airmail in October of 1948.
Mail sent through the APO system used the same rates as the domestic system. This registered cover was sent to the United States through the APO system by the Consular Affairs Office of the Chinese Mission in Japan in April of 1948.
