The Four-and-one-half-cent Prexie

Third class with minimum insurance use

The combination of the basic third-class rate of one-and-one-half cents plus a three-cent charge for minimum insurance for mailing value up to $5 was possible from November 1, 1944 until January 1, 1949. The year date on this cover is virtually unreadable, but appears to be 1948.
